YOUNGSTERS from the Princes’ Trust took over Leigh town centre on Friday.

The trust’s Leigh Team 34 were trying to raise as much money as possible for community projects that they will themselves complete as part of a 16-week course that aims to help unemployed people aged 16-25 develop skills to help them find work.

This time around, the youngsters want to take autistic children from Landgate House in Leigh on a day out to Blackpool and the elderly residents of a care home out for a meal.

Dwaine Dickenson spent his afternoon in a bath full of beans outside the Santander on Bradshawgate, while a cake sale, tombola and a jumble sale saw them reach a total of £131.10.
