OUR pet of the week is one of three chicks hatched by a primary school pupil.

Mercedes is a Cream Legbar chick and was hatched at the Tyldesley home of Imogen Roberts.

The Tyldesley Primary School pupil named the trio Mercedes, Porsche and Ferrari because of her love of Top Gear.

She said: “I am looking forward to the day that they start to lay so that I can enjoy fresh eggs for breakfast.”
