A MUM is returning to her home town to have 21 inches of her hair cut off for charity.

Former Westleigh High School pupil Rachael Oultram, aged 28, is having her very long locks cut off at Lee Bracek Hairdressing in Leigh at 1.30pm on Saturday.

Her hair will be donated to The Little Princess trust to make wigs for children who have lost theirs due to cancer treatment.

Rachael, who now lives in Cumbria and is mum to one-year-old Aidan, said: “The cost of making the wig is £350 so any money donated will go directly to this lovely charity to go towards making the wig.

“The minimum length of hair that can be donated is 17.5cm and I plan to donate 53cm or 21 inches of my long locks, scary.”
