A LIBRARY is hoping to help homeless and vulnerable people feel less lonely.

As part of the annual World Book Night event, Leigh Library donated books that will be distributed with food bags by the Brick Homeless Project.

Maureen O’Bern, from Leigh Library, said: “Reading improves people’s lives in numerous ways, socially, emotionally, practically and for leisure, and often people on the margins of society can feel excluded.

“If a book sparks an interest in reading they may use the library and feel less lonely and more part of the community.”
