PUPILS at an Astley primary school will be putting themselves in the shoes of children from poorer countries this week.

In support of Christian Aid Week, children from St Stephen’s CE Primary School will complete laps of the school field today, Friday, with the infants taking part in the morning and the juniors in the afternoon.

There will also be a coffee cafe set up in the community room of St Stephen’s Church on Manchester Road.

School governor Anne Edwards said: “After hearing about the work of Christian Aid during lessons the children will have the opportunity to see for themselves what the children of other countries do daily while carrying water for use.

“All are welcome to come and support the children and have a coffee and cake.”
