SINGING is proving to be the best medicine at a weekly workshop.

Memorable Melodies takes place every Monday from 1pm to 2.30pm, and is part of the Dementia Friendly Leigh project, organised by Wigan Council.

The project aims to make the public understand, respect and support people with dementia and help them contribute to their community.

The workshop, at 14 Walmesley Road, Leigh, is hosted by As in Eden CIC and led by singers from a community choir.

It aims to bring back memories and participants will learn singing techniques, which will improve their breathing and communication.
