NO wonder Oliver Harrison is smiling.

When the thoughtful year two pupil at Leigh CE School in Kirkhall Lane lost a tooth he donated the money he received from the ‘tooth fairy’ to the Wateraid project.

Now fellow classmates have decided to follow his lead to help people in Third World countries who don’t have access to clean water.

He wrote to the school’s head teacher asking if the school was able to lend support.

Impressed with Oliver’s concern for others she arranged for Wateraid representative Dave Boughen to visit school and now pupils are busy making collection pots to collect one and two penny pieces to donate to the charity.

Delighted head Emma Lightfoot said: "I am proud of the fact that our children are always thinking of those who are less fortunate than themselves."
