A CHOIR has raised £1,000 for charity through its concerts.

The LGN Community Choirs chooses a charity to raise money for each year and have donated the money from their Last Night of the Proms and appearance at Ashton Festival to Wigan and Leigh People First .

The charity, which is based in Golborne, supports people with learning disabilities.

Julie Davies from the charity said: “We support local people with learning disabilities to have a voice and speak up. We listen to what they have to say and speak out about the things that are important to them.

“We are truly grateful to the LGN Choir for their kind donation. As a small organisation, donations like this make a huge difference and ensure that we can continue to offer our services. “ For more information about the choir visit lgncc.co.uk.
