SUITED, booted and with her questions at the ready, a six-year-old girl from Golborne took on the big boss of a national business.

Poppy Smullen joined nine other mini executives at the head office of Wacky Warehouse and Fayre and Square in Burton-upon-Trent, Staffordshire, to ask questions and make suggestions to Nick Young, the operations director.

She beat off the competition to be recruited as a Little Leader for the national play centre and pub restaurant brand.

Poppy’s mum Donna said: “Poppy was so excited to get into the boardroom and makes some demands. It’s not every day kids can tell us adults what to do – and know that they are actually listening.

“She loved every minute and couldn’t wait to tell the boss he was fired.”

The Little Leaders made their demands and suggested changes – calling for themed birthday parties and an official song for Wacky Warehouse – that will now be implemented.
