A ROTARY club is providing ‘invaluable support’ to a school for children with learning and communication disabilities.
Thanks to Leigh Rotary Club, all 60 young people who attend Landgate School in Bryn have been able to visit the Space Centre in Preston, a multi-sensory environment designed for children and young people with special educational needs.
The visits are fun, stimulating and relaxing for the youngsters and teachers see major developmental advantages in communication, movement and control, all of which build confidence and motivation.
Deputy head teacher Anaya Hopkinson said: “I would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Leigh Rotary for their invaluable support in providing this wonderful experience to our learners.”
Leigh Rotary president David Jones recently visited the school to give a further £500 towards funding the visits.
He said: “Space is a fantastic facility and we have been delighted to help our schools to access its benefits.”
