FEARLESS fundraisers are preparing to jump out of a plane to raise money for Wigan and Leigh Hospice.

Brave supporters of the Hindley hospice will travel to Lancaster on Saturday to leap from an aircraft 11,000ft above the ground.

The 35 people taking part will arrive at Black Knights Parachute Centre just after 9am with the first group taking to the skies as soon as possible - depending on weather conditions - before landing in a nearby field.

Christine Edwardson, community fundraiser for Wigan and Leigh Hospice, said: “We’ve been overwhelmed this year by how many people have contacted us about our skydive and they are all really enthusiastic about raising money for the hospice.

“Jumping from a plane isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but we’re very grateful to those who are taking part – the money raised will make a huge difference to people with a life-limiting illness.”
