THE family of a man who died following a road traffic accident have described him as ‘a wonderful son, brother and uncle’.

Gary Ratcliffe, aged 41, died following a one vehicle collision on the westbound carriageway of the A55 in North Wales on Sunday.

Emergency services were called to the bottom of Rhuallt Hill at around 5.31pm but Gary, a pharmacist who grew up in the Leigh area before later moving to Manchester, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A second man suffered injuries which are not thought to be serious.

"He was a wonderful son, brother and uncle who had lots of friends," said his mother Eileen and sister Berenice.

"He was a friendly hard working person who was very good at his work.

"Gary was a larger than life character who lived life to the full and he will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him."

North Wales Police are investigating the incident and said yesterday that one lane of the westbound carriageway of the A55 at Rhuallt Hill will remain closed for the next few days.
