A DOGGY daycare centre with a difference has opened its doors.

Steven and Emma Bradley have expanded their Molly Moonshines’ daycare centre for dogs, to include a four ache plot of land and determination to make it just like home.

The land, at the former Worsley Garden Centre in Boothstown, offers a safe and friendly place for dogs to go when their owners are otherwise engaged.

Emma, of Chaddock Lane, Astley, said: “We’ve tried to make it as much like home as we can so the dogs that come here are comfortable.

“We’ve created an indoor area based on our lounge at home with lots of sofas in it and we have a large outdoor space for the dogs to run around.

“Because they are not on leads it is just like they’re at a park or in a field. Some daycare centres are just big warehouses which is really alien to a dog.

“We do a lot of sensory activities such as hiding treats in grass with the dogs to keep them entertained and we have lots of different areas like a sandpit and pools that we put out for them.”

The Bradleys are very picky about the dogs they accept to ensure a happy and sociable environment amongst the pets.

“We assess all the dogs that want to come here and we do turn dogs away,” Emma explained.

“We are picky - the dogs have to be happy and able to play with each other. We split them into different groups but then later in the day when they are all a bit tired we put them together so they can learn from each other.”

Molly Moonshines is also hosting a fun day to raise money and awareness for Alabama Rot, which will be held on July 20 from 11.30am.
