A KIND-HEARTED youngster has been rewarded for his gentlemanly nature.

Connor Porter, a year six pupil at Golborne Community School, was presented with the Rotary Young Achiever’s Award 2014 at the school’s leaving assembly.

He was given the award by the Rev Dennis Hall from Newton Rotary Club.

Assistant head and Connor’s teacher Lorraine Browne said teachers at the school voted for the year six pupil they felt was most deserving.

“The award is for someone who has made an outstanding contribution to the school and Connor is such a gentleman and a really lovely boy.

“He is so kind-hearted. He didn’t know about it before his name was announced but he was made up and I’m sure he was happy with the £20 voucher.”
