A HOSPICE is urging people to clear out the clutter and give their unwanted furniture to the charity.
Wigan and Leigh Hospice relies on donations of goods from people to sell in 13 shops across the borough but stocks of good quality furniture are running low.
Judith Howson, a volunteer shop co-ordinator at the Lord Street furniture shop in Leigh, said: “We have definitely had less and less furniture being donated recently.
“At the moment we are short of sideboards, Welsh dressers, beds, three-piece suites and we usually have three or four computer desks but at the moment we’ve got none.”
Items which can be donated include tables and chairs, bedside tables, drawers, wall units, wardrobes, beds, chairs and suites although these must have a fire retardant label attached.
To donate furniture contact the hospice on 01942 525566 to arrange collection.
