A HOUSING provider has reopened its community grant scheme.

Adactus Housing Association is urging residents, community groups and voluntary organisations to submit bids for a share of £7,000 made available for projects that will benefit people living in Leigh and Wigan.

Last year's Neighbourhood Fund supported numerous projects that included healthy living sessions, improvements to communal gardens, community clean up days and activities for young people.

Lindsay Greenhalgh, neighbourhood development officer at the Leigh-based business, said: “We are urging residents and community groups to contact us so they don’t miss out on a chance of sharing the pot of money.”

Applications to the fund are judged by a group of residents who decide which projects are awarded funding.

Applications should not exceed £1,000 and be submitted before the closing date of August 8 at 12pm.

For more information and applications forms, visit adactushousing.co.uk, email grantwest@chorleych.co.uk or call 0845 505 3355.
