EVERY GP practice in the borough has taken part in a unique event to celebrate the Commonwealth Games.
Each practice took it in turns to carry a flag from one of the Commonwealth countries as part of a four day relay.
The event was organised by the Wigan Borough Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), Wigan Council and WLCT.
Trish Anderson, chief officer at the CCG said: “We are delighted that every GP practice participated in the Commonwealth flag relay and we were able to welcome our patients who joined us along the route.
"This is a unique event in the NHS in the UK and we are looking forward to another borough wide celebration with our GP practices later in the year.
"We would like to thank our friends at WLCT for their help that made the 60 mile route a success”
