A 22-YEAR-OLD who set up her own hairdressing business has been advising Leigh MP Andy Burnham on how to attract more people to Leigh.

Mr Burnham popped in to meet Jade Parry at the salon she opened six weeks ago called Jade Hair and Beauty on Railway Road.

The MP was hoping to find out what could be done to attract more people and shops to Leigh and how to get more women into business.

“We talked about how we could improve the high street and the far end of Railway Road,” said Jade.

“He said he was going to look into sorting out the car park and putting more dustbins around so it is not as messy.”

Jade and colleague Jordan Taylor-Holland are also holding a charity day at the salon on September 22 to raise money for Macmillan by selling cakes, holding a raffle and selling bracelets.
