CHILDREN who attend a Tyldesley nursery will be able to watch their garden grow following the transformation of a derelict piece of land.

Noah’s Ark Nursery, at The King’s Centre, has been able to open a new garden and play area thanks to a helping hand from Balfour Beatty and the Rotary Club of Astley.

As well as paving, the garden has raised beds and two greenhouses in which the children will grow fruit and vegetables.

Liz Douglas, business developer at the Kings Centre, said: “This is a great example of how a partnership can all make a big difference in our communities by working together.

"Seeing the children playing, exploring and having fun in their new garden is brilliant.”

The nursery is also holding a family fun day on Saturday, August 23, from 11am until 3.30pm to raise money for domestic abuse charity Silent Nights.
