A YOUNG band from Leigh will be returning to the north west this weekend to launch their debut album.

Jeramiah Ferrari will be performing at the official launch party for their self-titled album at The Zoo Bar, on Westfield Street, in St Helens, tomorrow, Friday.

The live event will showcase some of the 12 tracks on the record, which are a mix of reggae, ska and pop, with support from London-based Feel Good Culture.

The band is made up of former Bedford High School pupils Ryan Barton, Hanson Pollitt and Joshua Aitchison along with Stuart Welch, who went to Hesketh Fletcher High School in Atherton, and they are hoping to emulate the success of their hit EP Dubby Rock, which reached number four in the iTunes Reggae chart last year.

Band member Ryan said: “We’ve played in St Helens twice before and whenever we’ve performed it’s always been awesome as there have been loads of fans.

“It was a no-brainer really that we would hold the launch party here.

“Our support act, Feel Good Culture, have helped us when with gigs down south and we wanted to repay the favour by asking them to join us tomorrow night.”

Following a tour of India and a string of sell out gigs around the UK, the band are about to hit the road with UB40, Madness and The English Beat.

Next month will see the release of the music video and single Burning Inferno, and the band are due to start filming next week.
