A VOLUNTEER has been named as a runner-up in a charity baking competition.
Amanda Marsh, from Astley, won the Manchester heat of UK ChildLine’s ‘Bake Off’ and headed to London for the grand final.
She joined six other contestants from across the UK to present her signature bake and compete for the title with her cupcakes.
Coronation Street Star and Actress Wendi Peters was on hand to offer her tasting talents as guest judge for the day.
She said: “I was delighted to judge the ChildLine Bake Off final and all the wonderful creations the volunteers have made.
“It was also a real pleasure to meet some of the wonderful volunteers who make up the ChildLine team and see their dedication to the service which really makes a difference to the lives of children and young people.”
