A SUPPORT meeting for people suffering from or affected by osteoporosis will be held in Hindley tomorrow, Friday.
The Ashton, Leigh and Wigan Osteoporosis Support Group will host speaker Julia Thompson, who is a helpline nurse, at St Peter’s Pavilion on Hurst Street in Hindley from 1.30pm.
One in two women and one in five men over the age of 50 will have a broken bone due to osteoporosis which can be prevented or treated and the meeting is aimed at providing help and advice for people who have been diagnosed with the disease as well as family members who want to find out how to help their loved ones.
