A CONCERT organised by the family of a talented musician will return to Tyldesley.

The Fairey Brass Band will once again take to the stage at Tyldesley Parish Church to raise money for Parkinson’s UK in memory of the late Ray Peacock.

It is the third concert that has been held since Ray, who was a member of the Fairey Band and worked at the company headquarters in Stockport for more than 30 years, died nine years after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s.

The concert will include carols, popular Christmas hits and music from festive films such as The Nightmare Before Christmas and The Snowman. Ray’s eldest son MarkPeacock, a music teacher from Tyldesley will lead the current North West Champion Brass Band on the night.

Since the first concert in May 2013, the Fairey Band have helped raise more than £4,350 for Parkinson’s UK – an amount that the Peacock family are delighted with. Ray’s widow Margaret said: “We are so grateful for all our family and friends who have helped us raise such a marvellous amount for the charity which is so dear to our hearts.

“Ray had so many wonderful times playing for Fairey’s around the world and in the top concert venues in the UK." “To bring the band to Tyldesley in our lovely Parish Church will be lovely at this festive time.”

The concert will starts at 7.30pm on December 12. Tickets are £10 for adults, and free for children and students and will be are available on the door or from can be reserved by calling 07944 109430.
