THE family of a young man who died in a collision on the M60 have paid tribute to a ‘devoted family man’.

Scott Hope, from Leigh, suffered multiple injuries following a collision between six vehicles on the M60 travelling clockwise at junction six near Sale shortly before 4.30pm on Saturday.

The 27-year-old was riding a motorcycle and sadly died from his injuries. There were no other serious injuries.

His family issued a statement which read: "Scott Hope was a devoted family man with a wicked sense of humour.

“He was a loving son, brother and husband. He was kind of heart and strong willed. Scott loved his motorbike, his wife and Mr Frank his dog.

“He has left a huge hole in our hearts and will now ride on forever in peace."

Police are appealing for information and witnesses.

Sgt Paul Higgins from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “Sadly a young man has lost his life and we are supporting his family during this tragic time.

“We are working to establish what caused the collision but at this stage the circumstances are still unclear.

“We would urge anyone who witnessed the collision or any of the vehicles in the moments beforehand to contact us. In particular we are keen to trace the driver of a small red car who may have witnessed the collision.”

Anyone with information should call the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 0161 856 4742.
