A HOUSEHOLD waste and recycling centre will be closed for three days for essential work to take place.
Kirkless HWRC, in Higher Ince, will close from Monday to Wednesday March 4 while an anti-friction coating is applied to the floor to aid vehicle safety on site. It will re-open on Thursday March 5 at 8am.
Slag Lane HWRC in Leigh and Chanters Industrial Estate HWRC in Atherton can be used as alternative sites.
This is the first of several improvements to Wigan Council’s waste and recycling sites this year. Later in the year improvements will be made to both the Chanters and Slag Lane sites.
Both will see large canopies erected over the main areas of the sites to keep residents dry when using them.
