JOBSEEKERS have been taking part in a new programme thanks to Joining Communities.

The Leigh-based company is delivering a Supported Employability programme this week for the first time.

It is aimed at helping job seekers, who have limited reading and writing skills, to become more independent and work ready and will be led by qualified in-house Learning Support teachers and personal performance coaches.

Paul Worswick, founder and director at Joining Communities said: “We are all in possession of a unique skill-set; some of which remain hidden until they are identified.

“I help individuals identify their skills and link them to activities to satisfy their wants and needs. My listening style helps clients who struggle with day-to-day barriers begin to open up in a safe and secure environment.”

The programme follows on from the success of the company’s first 50+ Digital Work Skills course - which will run again in March.

The eight-day course, which is funded by Workers' Educational Association (WEA), through European Social Fund (ESF), started on Monday.
