A HUNGRY Horse could be coming to Leigh.

A planning application has been submitted to Wigan Council by Greene King, which owns the chain of pubs, to open a branch in Unit 5 of Leighbrook Way.

The company has also applied for a premise license for the proposed plan.

The pub is described on its website as ‘famous for our Big Plate Specials, our fantastic range or drinks and our warm welcome’.

A Greene King spokesperson said: "We can confirm that we have submitted a planning application to Wigan Council to build one of our family-friendly Hungry Horse pubs.

“We are very excited about this potential addition to our Hungry Horse chain, which will create up to 60 full and part-time jobs for people in the area and offer good food, outstanding value and an inviting atmosphere for everybody to enjoy.

“Should planning permission be granted, we would be delighted to support the development of this area and hope to open the pub by Christmas 2015.”
