A PUB is looking for donations to help raise money for Wigan and Leigh Hospice’s fundraising appeal.

The Banner on Banner Street is holding a fun day on April 5 to raise money for the hospice’s Counting on Care appeal to modernise its Inpatient Unit and make it dementia-friendly.

The pub is appealing for donations of prizes and Easter eggs for the Easter egg hunt, bingo, raffles and tombolas at the event.

The Banner will also be selling pie and peas to raise funds after Dawsons Bakery donated 50 pies.

Landlady Tina Brown said: “We have a lot planned for the day and everything we raise through sales of pie and peas, the Easter egg hunt, bingo, raffles and tombolas will all be going to the appeal.

“If anyone has gifts they could donate or a spare Easter egg we would be really grateful for their help.

“I have had a few friends go to the hospice and I have family and friends who have had cancer so I wanted to do something for the appeal.”

The Easter Sunday event will start at 1pm and also features a Lady Gaga impersonator.
