A COUPLE from Tyldesley are appearing on hilarious TV show Don't Tell The Bride.

The BBC1 fly-on-the-wall show follows soon-to-be wed couples as the groom struggles to plan the special day in just three weeks and without any help.

Mark Kelly, aged 42, and Kelly Roughley, aged 38, have been together for ten years and have two young daughters Leah and Beth. They run their own entertainments business called okeydokey entertainment and got engaged last year in June.

In the show, Mark has to tackle failed venue plans, delayed wedding invites, none existent hen and stag parties and two hopeless best men.

Kelly, who is now Kelly Kelly, only knew she was getting married when a TV production crew member called her. She said: "We basically did it the same as everyone else. We got a mortgage and then had kids — and getting married sort of just got put on the back burner. Unbeknown to me Mark had applied to Don't Tell The Bride and the first time I knew I was getting married was when the production company rang up."

On the show, couples are restricted from seeing or speaking to each other for three weeks in which time the groom and his chosen best men have to plan everything from the venue, to the dress to the hen and stag.

Mark said: "We would laugh and joke that you don’t need a piece of paper to feel married and that we loved each other and getting married doesn’t prove anything "But as the years went on I thought I really do want to marry her and I got scared and thought to myself if I don’t marry her someone else is going to come in and steal her off me.

"Kelly is my princess and what I wanted from day one was for her to look amazing and I just felt she deserved to be seen by as many people as possible to share it with the world.

"When they said we had been successful we said to each other look we are strong enough together, whatever happens we are going to be okay and stay together. We love each other and have been through worse things.

"I said to her what could be worse — the answer to that is your wedding day going wrong!"
