LEIGH-born blues musician Chris Bevington is bringing his friends to join him at his next gig.

He has a number of special guests lined up for the show, including vocalists Robert Hart from Bad Company and Steve Overland from FM.

The gig is taking place at the Railway Venue in Bromley Cross, tomorrow night from 9pm.

The bass player will also be joined on stage by Scott Ralph and Jim Kirkpatrick on guitar and vocals, Aidan Goldshaw on keys, Jamie Bannister on saxophone, Andy Carr on drums and Kate Robinson and Sarah Miller will provide backing vocals.

Chris said: "We are doing two sets, predominantly all the tracks from the first album and then I'll also be playing songs from the second album which will be out later this year.

"This time I have some lovely guests including Robert Hart from Bad Company, Steve Overland from FM and Rebecca Downes who has been successfully touring with King King.

"I love coming back to the north. Bolton is very close to where I was born in Leigh, so it will be a bit of a homecoming gig for me."

His first album Chris Bevington and Friends, featuring covers of blues classics, hit the UK and US charts when it was released in March, receiving airplay across the globe.

Chris said: "I was delighted when the album got into the UK and US blues charts – it was not expected. I kept getting emails from all over the world congratulating me.

"I have wanted to be a musician since I was 16 and I'm 53 now. The blues just keeps on going.

"This time I have brought in a brass section and backing vocals for a big band sound and made it more upbeat, so it's been really good fun."
