LEIGH Centurions player Mickey Higham has ventured into the personal training business and opened a new gym in Leigh.

The Tyldesley father of two has opened the gym in partnership with former Warrington rugby player Paul Wood and the pair held an opening day at the weekend with a few famous faces coming down to support the event.

Located in Brooklands Mill in English Street, the gym will be open seven days a week with a series of day and night classes.

Classes range from one-on-one personal training sessions to group circuit based activities such as body blitz, kettle bells and strong man classes.

On the opening day, Leigh Centurions players, Ryan Brierley, Tommy Goulden, came down to support their team mate.

Mickey said: "We weren't expecting as many people to come down as did, it was really good.

"We cater for everyone from 16 years of age up. There's no pressure and no one is looking down on you.

"People don't need to pay beforehand for classes, they can just turn up.

"We understand that people have busy jobs and can't always get to classes every week.

"For the future we will be looking at making a living out of this and perhaps opening up another gym."
