A dog walker exposed himself in a park in Tyldesley.

At about 9.30pm on 4 July a woman was out walking her dog in the area between Parkfield Drive and Sherriff’s Drive in Tyldesley.

A man appeared from a bush with his dog pulled down his trousers and exposes his boxer shorts and then left.

The offender is described as being white, in his 30s or 40s, about 5ft 10in tall, of a biggish build, clean shaven and wearing a white baseball cap, a light-coloured top, white underpants, light-coloured trousers and glasses.

The dog was said to be a black Rottweiler.

On Wednesday 22 July, a 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of a public order offence and bailed until 18 August 2015 pending further inquiries.

Police Constable Danny Morgan said: "In recent weeks, we’ve received a number of complaints about a man exposing himself while out walking his dog, so in addition to the incident on 4 July 2015, there may well have been other incidents of this nature.

"I would therefore ask anyone who has either been a victim or witnessed a man exposing himself in this way, or seen anyone matching this description asking suspiciously, to come forward and speak to us.

"It is important to stress that we have not had any reports of physical abuse or threats and we have made an arrest so I want the community to take reassurance from that.

"Nevertheless, we will continue to make inquiries until we find the man responsible so I would urge anyone with information to come forward and also ask that people who use this area to walk their dogs remain vigilant."

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
