THIS was the dramatic moment a car burst into flames on a main road.
Luckily the woman driver escaped from the Ford Focus car after it caught fire just after 11.30pm on the A580 road near Leigh on Friday.
An eye witness said the driver managed to get out of the car just seconds before it exploded.
Share article He said: "As we drove down the road we saw these massive flames. It was a woman driving a Ford Focus. There was smoke coming from the car and she ran way."
Firefighters rushed to the scene to extinguish the fire and the incident caused long tailbacks. It is not clear what caused the fire.
