A MILITARY exhibition had everybody standing to attention at Leigh Shopping Centre.

A team of veterans from the Blue Apple Heroes charity took their pop up exhibition to the Spinning Gate shopping centre.

The Blue Apple Heroes are a Warrington based charity whose purpose is to raise funds and awareness regarding our ex-service men and women who are suffering from PTSD, post-traumatic stress disorder.

On July 31 and August 1 the exhibition took centre stage in the shopping centre showing a variety of historical military items.

The exhibition liaison officer for the weekend was ex Lance Corporal Malcolm Vickers.

He said: "“It’s a popular event and an attractive exhibition, it’s not like a museum that you can’t touch the objects. Children love coming over and having their picture taken.

“We change the exhibition each day so people are seeing different things and as well as raising money it’s about raising awareness of soldiers struggling with PTSD.”

If any reader has military items gathering dust in attics/sheds that they would like to be part of the exhibition please call Mr Malcolm Vickers on 01942 791504.
