Yobs pelt stones at firefighters
YOBS hurled stones at firefighters as they tackled a rubbish fire thought to be started by the teenagers.
Crews from Leigh were called to land off Manchester Road in Astley at 7pm, where they were attacked by a group of teenagers on bikes.
Firefighter Stuart Parr said: “The youths threw stones at us as we put the rubbish fire out.
“No one was hurt and police were called."
Crews were on the scene for 20 minutes.
