LEE Smith broke Leigh' hearts with a try and a drop-goal during a 17-16 defeat to Wakefield Wildcats.
The Wildcats got off to the perfect start with a perfect start with an opening try.
But the Centurions hit back hit back with tries from Fuifui Moimoi, Jonny Pownall and Liam Kay.
Leigh were hopeful of pulling off the victory as they had defeated the Wildcats earlier this season in the Challenge Cup., But two tries by Jacob Miller scored either side of half-time levelled the scores before Smith won it with the boot.
The Centurions are still looking for their first win of Middle 8s and remain second from bottom so far.
Meanwhile, Wakefield's win means they lie fourth in the qualifiers.
Leigh: McNally; Pownall, Worthington, Armstrong, Kay; Ridyard, Brierley; Moimoi, Higham, Emmitt, Haggerty, Dixon, Acton.
Replacements: Beswick, Barlow, Spencer, Aspinwall.
