TYLDESLEY Water Polo and Swimming Club trio Imogen Bailey, Jodie Gittins and Jessica Sloan had a successful trip to the ASA National Championships.
Imogen and Jodie were competing at the nationals for the first time and were not overawed by the experience.
Jessica competed in the Girls 17/18 years 4x100m freestyle team for Wigan BEST and heading into the evening finals session the team were lying in third.
But after a hard fought swim they were finally crowned champions and collected the gold medal.
Imogen was the last of the trio to compete, in the 14 years 200m butterfly.
There were five swimmers who were all “neck and neck” to achieve the final three medal positions as they were heading into the last 50m.
But in the last 10 metres Imogen moved away and finally was placed in third to collect a bronze medal.
Earlier in the day Jodie, competed in the 13 year girls 50m butterfly where she finished in 11th place, just missing a final place by five hundredths of a second.
Jodie also competed in the 100m butterfly finishing in 15th place.
