Siddal opened the scoring on seven minutes after Rangers full back Tom Bradbury was penalised for interference at the play the ball and Brooke kicked the goal.

Rangers levelled the game up when Bradbury kicked a penalty for ball stealing with two in the tackle on 16 minutes. Ten minutes later Bradbury kicked his second penalty for a similar offence but was just short with a 43 metre effort minutes later.

Rangers were in the ascendancy at this stage and they scored the opening try of the game on 31 minutes. Gray and Sarsfield combined superbly before passing out to centre Chris Mugan who scored in the corner and Bradbury added a superb touchline conversion to make it 10-2.

On the last play of the half Siddal came back into it following a superb break downfield and from the next play Garrod scooted through superbly from the play the ball and Brooke added the extras.

Rangers increased their lead to eight points after 58 minutes following a knock on by Andrew Bowman ten metres from his own line. Rangers made two drives from the scrum before prop Tom Whitehead drove through a heavy traffic to score and Bradbury kicked the goal.

Ten minutes later Siddal pegged the lead back to four points after winger James Kershaw took Brookes' long cut out pass to score in the corner.

Rangers though went upfield on their next set and on the last tackle Bradbury dropped a goal from 20 metres to increase their lead. They secured victory late on when Adam Thomason drove over from the play the ball for a converted try.
