LEIGH RMI have had enough of being a club fighting for survival every season.

The Conference North minnows only managed to stave off relegation in the last game of the season, but Steven Rubel, the latest recruit to the club's management committee, says it is time to "think big".

He believes that now is the perfect time to move the club on and instead of worrying about relegation they should target promotion next season.

"We hope to form a limited company free of debt and that will enable us to improve the football side," Rubel said.

"But to achieve this we need people at all levels to come and help the club improve.

"We are open to anyone to come in and help financially, but we also need their expertise. Now is an important time between seasons to make those changes.

"Surviving, as we have been doing, is not really a success and it is time to move and think big. We need to get the club on a more professional footing."

In recent seasons the cash-starved Railwaymen have tumbled from the Conference to the Conference North and in 2006 suffered relegation, only to earn a reprieve when Canvey Island pulled out of the league.

RMI hope to benefit from the sale of Hilton Park, although it is not owned by the football club, and the increase in revenue streams with a move to the new Sports Village in 2008.
