A POPULAR opticians has celebrated a quarter of a century serving the Leigh community.

Gill Opticians, in the Spinning Gate Shopping Centre, marked the occasion on Saturday with loyal customers and shoppers.

The store provided food and drinks for visitors and ran promotions throughout the day including a raffle to win free designer sunglasses.

The firm, which is managed by David Hindley, has nine members of staff all of whom are dedicated to their clients.

Polly Duffy, assistant and technician, who has worked at the store for 20 years said: “We have a very good team and a very loyal customer clientele that come in to us regularly.

“We care a lot about people and give them the best customer service and after care that we can.

“The Spinning gate is a great location for the store and the amount of people that came to our celebration was overwhelming.”

The opticians carry a range of frames from free budget and an extensive choice of designer brands and will be introducing some of the lightest titanium and crystal encrusted frames at their Silhouette promotion day on November 28.

Mrs Duffy added: “We do try and have that personal touch with clients and will be very flexible to their needs.

“We have long standing staff here too so customers will always get to see a familiar face.

“David is a very amendable boss for example, I am shaving my head for Cancer Research at the end of the month and he is letting me do that in store!”
