RESCUE dog Scamp is our pet of the week.
Owner Suzanne Bennett, 40, of Landor Close, Lowton, adopted him three years ago after he was rescued from a coal bunker in Nottingham, where he had been left to die after being abused.
The four-year-old Shih Tzu Jack Russell cross was found with four broken ribs, three knocked out teeth, a broken jaw and cigarette burns, but he soon came to live with Suzanne and her family after they found out about him online.
Beauty salon owner Suzanne said: “We nursed him back to health and he is just gorgeous.
“When we first got him the poor pup was on anti-depressants and was scared of everything, but now he’s a completely different dog.
"He’s so happy and great with the kids.”
