A FORMER performing arts student from Golborne has landed her dream job as a singer and actress at Disneyland.

Ariane Sallis, 22, studied at Warrington Collegiate and had performed on London’s West End before securing a job at Disneyland in Hong Kong.

Ariane plays the role of Merida in Mickey and the Wondrous Book as well as taking on the job of Disney’s English-speaking presenter.

She said tutors at the collegiate encouraged her to audition for London drama schools and she was accepted at the London College of Music, where she graduated with a first class degree in musical theatre.

Ariane started working straight after graduating in June and has performed in several touring shows as well as in Jurassic Lark: The Musical in the West End.

She said: “I can honestly say without hesitation that if it weren’t for the tutors, staff and friends I made at Warrington Collegiate I don’t think I would be where I am today.

“Warrington Collegiate taught me many skills I have used in the industry, including audition technique, vocal support, acting technique but most of all confidence in what I do.

“After performing in shows at the college I decided that this was not just a hobby and that I wanted to perform as a career.”

One of Ariane’s tutors, Sindy Richardson, curriculum leader for creative and performing arts, said: “It’s absolutely incredible to see how well Ariane has done since leaving the college and how she is using the things she learned here to help further her career.”

“Hearing about her success is sure to be a real inspiration to our current students.”
