A BREXIT group in Leigh has held its first meeting ahead of next month's EU referendum.
Leigh Leave is a cross party group campaigning for the UK to leave the European Union.
A programme of campaigning was agreed at Thursday's meeting at Atherton Village Club in Howe Bridge, including handing out leaflets and setting up street stalls to answer people's questions.
The group will hold a public meeting about the EU referendum at the Atherton club from 7.30pm on Thursday, June 9.
Leigh Leave spokesman Trevor Bell said: "We would love to have a real debate, so if any individuals or groups from the 'remain' side of the argument would be interested in taking part then contact us through our 'Leigh Leave' Facebook page.
"If no 'remain' people step up to the challenge we will still hold our meeting to promote taking back control of our country."
Speeches given at Thursday's meeting informed people of differing backgrounds the arguments for leaving the EU, including to give greater democracy and control of our boarders as well as to save money and help the poorest people in the UK.
After the meeting some people were interviewed in front of a camera for a short Leigh Leave film that will be put on YouTube and the group's Facebook page.
