OUR pet of the week is 16-month-old budgie Roe-ber.
The bird is owned by mother and son Angela, 50, and Robert Owen, eight, who live on Rugby Road in Leigh. They have had Roe-ber since he was a chick.
Angela Owen, a carer, said: “He is a beautiful and loving bird who is always there for you.
“When you let him out of his cage he is on your shoulder straight away.
“Robert named him Roe-ber, which stands for Robert but in a French accent.
“He is a lovely bird but he hasn’t learnt to talk yet.
“He likes being with people and does not like being left on his own, so when we go out I leave the radio on.”
n If you want your pet to feature send a photograph of them with your name and contact details, including information about your pet and about the photograph, to newdesk@leighjournal.co.uk.
