TYLDESLEY Swimming and Water Polo Club had a record number of entrants at this year’s Great North Swim in Windermere.
Twenty-seven club members, including several juniors, took part in the event on June 11, with many competing and tackling an open water swim for the first time.
Adam Toone was the first Tyldesley swimmer home in the mile event, finishing 13th overall and third in his age group.
Leanne Stafford came eighth in her age group and was the fastest female swimmer in that age group.
The club’s other swimmers in the mile event were Maxine Grundy, Samantha Grundy, Natasha Grundy, Nicola Toone, Lee Toone, Louise Toone, Andrea Roberts, Neil Roberts, Chris Mills, Tom Pridding, Ant McGuiness, Simon Hulmes, Andy Robb, Sam Cornish-Evans and Jill Kaufman.
Debbie Hulmes, Karen Price, Lynn Robb, Leah Hulmes, Lucy Mills, Neil Osgood, Sam Osgood, Jessica Robb, Imogen Roberts and Matthew Roberts competed in the half-mile event.
