A CHARITY car show will be held tomorrow, Saturday, to help save a damaged church.
St John's Church in Tyldesley requires £20,000 for roof, paving and heating system repairs.
St John’s Mosley Common CE Junior and Infant School is hoping to raise £1,000 towards the required sum at its school fair tomorrow, when there will be more than 60 cars on display, including a new Ford Mustang.
The event is backed by Bolton-based Bristol Street Motors, which is supplying the cars.
Asa Taylor, car show co-ordinator and director of AquaTilers in Tyldesley, said: “St John’s needs to raise a substantial amount to secure its future.
“Every pound helps to get a step further to reaching the target, so it is fantastic to have the support of Bristol Street Motors.
“I am a huge petrolhead. I am a particular fan of Ford and own a few different models myself, so I am really looking forward to checking out the Mustang and other cars on display."
Darren Murray, general manager of Bristol Street Motors, said: “We are always keen to show our support for local causes, and ensuring that St John’s stays safe and open for its parishioners and future generations is important for the community."
