BENTS Garden and Home is celebrating a double victory after scooping two prestigious awards.

The family-run business in Glazebury won Best Show Feature at this year’s RHS Tatton Flower Show and was named Best Destination Garden Centre in the north west by the Garden Centre Association (GCA).

The first honour came following a strict audit of the garden centre on Warrington Road and then a spot visit, which assesses everything from plant and product quality to customer service and innovation, and it resulted in Bents receiving one of the top scores in the country.

It has also been named regionally as the best outdoor living retailer with the best restaurant and was presented with the Barton Grange Trophy for innovation and creativity.

The GCA awards were quickly followed by success at this year’s RHS Tatton Flower Show after attending as part of the Cheshire Gardens of Distinction display and dressing the stand for the occasion.

Matthew Bent, managing director at Bents, said: “The GCA awards are extremely important within the industry as they are based purely on quality standards throughout the centre.

“This quality is not only in relation to products and departments but also people and service, which makes it a very special award to win.

“We have a great team who work extremely hard and the title of Best Destination Garden Centre in the north west is a fantastic way to thank them for all their input.

“To follow it up with an award at one of the country’s most popular horticultural shows is the icing on the cake.”
