AN Astley author is hosting a literary festival giving readers the chance to meet the people who have penned some of their favourite books.

Sandra Robinson self-published her debut novel Bound For Passion: Erotic Love Stories in December 2013 and has now written six books under the pseudonym Scarlett Flame.

After attending several meet and greet events across the UK since becoming an author, Sandra decided to organise one of her own.

The event, organised by Scarlett Enterprises, will take place from 11am until midnight on Saturday, August 13, at the Red Rose Steam Society Ltd Mining Museum, Astley Green, Higher Green, Manchester.

Money raised will go to the Red Rose Steam Society Ltd, Mind and a local Scouts group.

She said: “These events are an opportunity for readers to connect with writers and get their books signed, as well as to pick up some swag – little free gifts including bookmarks, postcards and sweets.

“There will be 50 authors from a whole host of genres and they are a mixture of published and indie published (self-published) writers.”

Sandra writes in a number of different genres, including paranormal romance and erotica as well as sci-fi and steampunk, and her novels are popular in America, Canada, Germany and Japan.

She said: “I am passionate about writing and I write about passion.”

There will be live music at the meet and greet from Mog Stanley, Officer and The Reveurs’ Vickie Wood as well as Girls Without Gum Disease and Joes Symes And The Loving Kind, who recently played at Noel Gallagher’s after show party in Liverpool.

There will several models in attendance and a host of raffle prizes to win.

Sandra said: “This will be the first event of its kind hosted by Scarlett Enterprises and I hope it will be an annual event.

“I am certain it can go from strength to strength.”

Next year’s event is already in the diary and will be held on Saturday, August 19, at the same venue, with 40 authors, bloggers and readers interested in attending.
