HAY bales at a Lowton farm are looking pretty in pink as it gets wrapped up in trying to help breast cancer charities.

Grange Farm on Stone Cross Lane South has joined Breast Cancer Now’s annual campaign encouraging farmers, rural residents and members of the general public to raise funds for and awareness of the fight against third biggest cancer killer in the UK.

The aim is to surpass last year's fundraising total of £10,000, with Breakthrough Breast Cancer and the Breast Cancer Campaign being two of the charities that will benefit from the money raised.

Hay bales wrapped in pink plastic will be sold to event organisers, horse yards and stables to highlight the importance of improved treatments and aftercare for breast cancer victims.

Following a successful year, Grange Farm owner Andrew Burman is happy to be backing the campaign, with a huge stack of the pink bundles proudly sitting on view at his land.
