THE organiser of an annual charity rock festival says that a 'brilliant' event is in store after securing a 'fantastic' line-up of bands.

The third annual Skyfest will take place at the Sky Bar on Railway Road, Leigh, from 3.30pm on Saturday, October 22.

And organiser Jamie Young believes everything is in place for it to be the best Skyfest yet.

He said: "We have loads of fantastic bands joining us this year. It should be a brilliant event.

“It is always a great night when the rock fans of the area get together.

"Last year's event was a huge success and this year's one should be even better."

Headline act The Catchafters will be supported by bands like Vera Cruz, Blast Tyrant, Great Reckoning and many others.

Tickets bought in advance cost £4, or you can pay £5 on the door, and all of the money raised will go to the Wigan and Leigh Hospice.

Jamie, 24, added: “Last year we aimed at raising £1,000 and ended up hitting £1,300, and this year we are hoping to raise even more."

The event will include a raffle with a host of prices up for grabs.
